Thoughts On A Painting

Harmony and regret are opposites; contempt and certainty are synonyms.

When we are awake, we long to be asleep; when we are asleep, we dream of being truly awake.

What seems simple never turns out to be so.

Time is always a dimension of value, no matter what kind of value.

It is only after the newness wears off that love really starts.

I would believe that what is natural is good if people weren’t naturally cruel.

In conversation, it is better to add a little than to subtract a lot.

Fridays aren’t anything to particularly celebrate when you work on Saturdays.

It is a rare thing to find people who know both how to love and how to be loved.
