lavender and stone

a heart of lavender and stone
that kept the form, but not the soul
of home

a world of her own wide agenda,
neat within her hacienda,
fashions clipped and manners bought:
children just an afterthought

a heart of lavender and stone,
that knew the words, but not the tune
for home
