Memories of a Night

One night, we walked here in the dark
And made love on this deck
Just two alone and hidden off from sight

The sand we trailed back in the car
And more back in your house
But we just couldn’t get enough that night

I remember palms together, lips together
Two together, altogether –
You and I until the morning light

When all we’d ever be was spent
We lay there on the sheets
A night was our whole tale
Our guilt
Our plight
