An Invitation

The day is calling for the sun,
The air is sweet and clear,
The road is long and tiring,
But you are welcome here

With choice and care life is replete,
We all could use some cheer —
The way dark and harrowing,
But you are welcome here

  For afterdays and battles,
  For seminal retreats,
For all the charges that life brings,
  With (or without) receipts —

The wind is blowing hard and gray,
The shadows reappear,
But all will be soon warm and gold,
For you are welcome
