Two sisters, eighty plus years old I know.
They talk of NYC back in the day:
When they were twenty-somethings, starting out,
And had a dream, and so had made their way
To Times Square back in 1949.
A secretary and a stewardess:
That’s where they’d start, and then see what would come.
So young and ready that world to impress —
And sure, they found some hardships on the way;
But also, they found that they had the will
To seize the opportunities they had —
Whatever drinks were poured, they had their fill —
So filled with life and glamor, brave and bold:
With kids and grands, who now just see them
