out in the sun, the noonday sun,
a shadow stands in sharp relief;
no longer blurry or obscured,
it stands for form, for shape, belief --

out in the noonday sun, in glory,
with it's friends for all to see:
and yet folks look instead at things
that shadows just pretend to be
