Central Tendencies (1)

When you seek to understand --
to just see things for what they are --
it can be lonely, for the world
 prefers to move in packs.

But when you want to really know,
you'll learn we all are often wrong:
the record of our failures, kept
on paper, stowed away in stacks.

But being wrong is no excuse
 for never trying, staying pat,
 assuming what you've heard's enough
and you need look no further --

For failure can be beautiful,
 when, with humility, we try
 to understand a little bit
 and spend life as

 a learner
