Love Advice

You asked me, friend, for some advice;
I know you both are full of joy —
And there’s not much that I can say
That isn’t maudlin or cloy

But I will say this: starting out’s
The easy part. For two together
Need a compass, and a map,
To navigate the seas and weather

That will come, indeed must come.
You have to understand that love
Is not just what you give, or get,
It’s who you are, what you’re made of.

For love, it is a moral choice.
Biology runs underneath,
But it gives out with age and time.
So this I’ve learned I now bequeath —

  The strongest way to keep love good
  ‘s to love because you said
