6 Meditations on Truth

cold marble
antiseptic gleam
whitewashed world

that thing we do best:
while hiding what’s key

still, quiet,
clad in dignity,
and untrue

noise and words are not
the same as
music and lyrics

she walks, and
hallways echo, where
once life moved

that one truth
that we never say
dies with us
