That I will not seek, nor will I accept
The nomination of this body
To be Prime Minister of the Internet.

My family and I
Stand here before you today
Metaphorically
Proud to have been considered for such an honor.

I would, however
Like to offer some advice
To anyone seeking this office
Or any other office within the Internet government.

In the end, there is only one political sin:
Abuse of power.
So, don’t abuse it.

Remember, we cannot always know
The consequences of our actions.
So, act with care.

Remember also, whatever you do
Or do not do
Will be mischaracterized by your enemies.
You cannot change this.

Politics
Is the intersection of passion
And persuasion
Run through the filter
Of human limitation:
Therefore,
While you may not always
Know your limits,
Know at least
That you have them.

Finally,
If you can do anything
Anything at all
To get my local Internet
Not to go down so often,
I’d appreciate it.
