all these cards through many seasons 
words of love and hope and wonder 
sitting propped up on a dresser 
birthdays, parent's days and all the

out to places dressed and ready 
for another day of marking 

and remarking on the common 
and the extraordinary 
passing of the times of loving

colors shaped and forms bright-colored 
meaningless to others maybe 
but conveying endless somethings
