Enough To Go Around

I’ve learned

That hearing words repeated often
Doesn’t make them true

That even people who embrace change
Can get overwhelmed by it

That there never seems to be
Enough of anything to go around —
Except blame

That almost all memory
Is partially untrue

That reasons and actions
Rarely match up

That knowledge is hard to come by,
And to be suspicious of anyplace
That makes it seem easy

And that a person can do a lot with pecans,
But I can’t

  1. I can’t think of a single thing to do with pecans except eat them as they are or put them in/on cake…
