Umbrella Girl

Dozens scurrying from the rain,
Off to find scattered cars and dry shirts.
But one, laboring in boots too big
For her, carries her umbrella to where
Animals live who have no addresses.
Because, while the grand gesture gets attention,
The small ones actually get the job done
