the final vault

the locking of the final vault
was done before day went down;
we read about it here, online,
beneath the story on the gown
the winsome princess wore to ball.
but she is not at fault:
there's just this bit of folderol
that hides the final vault.

the opening will be a sight
that neither you nor i will see:
a bit of dolor and intrigue
and just a dash of mystery
for bearers of the sacred pall.
they'll be no time to halt --
there's just the anger that we missed
the last and
final
vault
