driving day

today.

today was one of my driving days
days like today drift in and out of times
times where the old man becomes young, and the young woman ages;
ages ago, when you and i were close like lovers,
lovers who shook off the challenge of truth, and went for convenience

convenience store stop. milky way’s got caramel now, got to try that –
that woman over there has the most beautiful hair, i wonder what she…
she might have caught me staring how embarrassing; i need —
i need to get going. more places reminding me that you used to

to tell the truth, the sky’s not nearly as empty as
as i was saying, i went on a long drive today
today was one of my driving days
