Beware,
Lest you pretend
The grief of others
Hallows your prejudice
Just as
Dynamite
Can put out fire,
Anger can be used
For good,
But only when applied
Thoughtfully
And in limited
Situations
We learn
The value of
Loving words
When we are
Thirsty for them;
We learn
The pointlessness of
Loving words
When have drunk them
For years
Out of an empty cup
Keep promises always,
Make promises rarely
Honor is less readily laughed at
By those who’ve known the workings
Of its opposite
I really don’t understand why this made me cry … but it did, and I’m thankful for that.
