Tasked to Love

Tasked to love, the promise-makers,
Asked to sing in harmony;
Fled from all our lost tomorrows,
Seeking stain and ecstasy

Sped by all the roadside warnings,
Bled by those who’d bleed us dry;
He owns not who merely borrows,
Peeking at an errant sky

She that makes my heart to wander,
Key to all I seem to seek —
Masked by all her joys and sorrows,
Finds me strength when I am weak

Made the promise, tasked to loving,
Asked to sing a song as one –
I’d trade no one for this pleasure
Minds that love are
Never
Done
