I think this about my dad all the time. I’m becoming more and more reluctant to write about who he used to be, because the him I knew is a him who has very likely expired. As I told him the last time we spoke, we’ll never have a relationship as long he continues to reject accountability … but still, I’d rather him and those who love him be at peace in this different life than be part of him feeling unabsolvable now for anything/everything then.
