Here she walks among the ruins
Of the life she meant to live;
Prowling ever – softly, softly
Over ground she can’t forgive
Once there was a girl of promise,
Once there was a flick’ring light:
Now the days are long with sorrow,
Darkness and the coming night
Here she walks in all-but-sleeping,
Blind to where the sun still beams:
O’er the ruins of her promise
Trapped amid her shattered
Dreams
I sincerely wish it wasn’t.
