Life is full of ketchup packets
Little sachets
Full of goo
Just more junk between the brackets
[Birth and death
For me and you]
Everywhere I look detritus
Fragments, shavings,
Leavings, scree
Just more stuff that isn’t needed
[Just like, well
Quite frankly – me]
Not just ketchup….. Fancy ketchup!
Ok, I have to ask… do you look up one obscure word and build the poem around it or do you just have those floating around in your head ready to be placed? I find myself going to bing at least once a poem. 🙂
A large number of my favorite authors are 19th century British, so I get a lot of words from there… However, “scree” came from Thesaurus.com.
