The girls all think she’s very strange,

The boys all think she’s hot:

The clothes she has are all in vogue

The thoughts she has are not

 

She loves the old and classic stars,

And really doesn’t care:

You go be Gwen Stefani, she

Will be Claudette Colbert

 

For like so many rebels, she’s

More genuine than rogue:

But being who you really are

Has rarely been

In vogue

No One

No one tells her where to be
No one tells her what to do
It’s not your life anymore
She’ll tell you what you can do

Or, she would if you were someone
Coming there to beg and crawl:
But to her, your simply no one
Nobody
At all

Another Herd

You said the life we choose to lead
Is puny and absurd;
So you’ll show how unique you are
And join another herd

Yes, you’ll stand out alright, you will
With all around your twin –
Your individuality?
A lot like fitting in

You’ve left your small life here, where you
Can live, at last stand tall:
Another herd to graze among
And never think
At all

When I hear

The individual is not what matters

It is the group (or “system”) they belong to

I believe I recognize

The foundational step

Of every truly great evil

The world has ever known
