Scenes from Home – 1

Give me a turn I’ve never taken,
Roads I’ve never driven on;
Give me a lake in summertime, and
As long as I want to be there —

I’ve been home for three straight months.
But now, I’ve got a day to see
What I can find in out there, nearby,
That I have never seen.

It’s pointless, people tell me, but
It’s part of how I’m wired;
I’ll look as long as one day holds,
Then go home when I’m

Tired
