If I Could

If I could, I’d write the pain
Write the pain I see in you
In you, worlds of hidden hopes
Hidden hopes that none may view

None may view the magic that
Magic that your heart has grown
Grown into phantasmic shapes
Shapes that only you have known

Known amidst the daily ache
Aching towards “you wish you would” —
Would that I but had the words
Words to save you, if I could
