Humility, My Friend

Humility, my friend, my friend –
Where have you been these years?
Does all I have put me in your arrears?

Humility, my confidante –
I’ve missed your soft advice –
Should I have less, and should that bit suffice?

Humility, my final guide –
I knew you’d come at last.
Is everything I own for you amassed?
