Millennial Calumny

lazy thinking, all in classes:
see no people, just see masses.
act as though the whole group’s shiftless,
self-absorbed, naive and thriftless.
  shun the evidence of eyes:
  try self-serving on for size.

how we love our categories —
who needs facts when you’ve got stories?
sleeping cat, and caramel latte,
symptoms of some moral decay.
  their existence is our shame,
  those millennials to blame —

Blindness fed by pride and ego,
See it now, wherever we go,
Elders calumnize the young:
Words have bitten, pictures stung –
but it’s not like moral lift
  was my generation’s gift
