Fell in love on a winter day
At the beach, by the fire
Wind blows – I’m caught in the middle now
Oh, my light
And everything that she told me
Her words, her warm lips
Her soft hair came falling down
Oh, my life
Winter night
Fell in love by a winter fire
‘Neath the stars, by the waves
I’m lost – I’m caught in the middle now
Oh, my life
And all the things that she told me
Of a love that would live for a thousand years
Dying fire
Oh, my light
Fire’s gone
Winter night
And everything that she told me
All her words in a rush
Oh, I’m caught in the middle now
Come back night
Come back night
Come back
Night
[Written when I was nineteen]
