Concerning vanity
We are most staunch:
The satellites that tell us where are
We didn’t launch

Those past discoveries
We take in stride:
Ignoring or belittling what won’t
Support our pride

Encompassing the whole
With our conceit –
And upon our great moral virtue
Daily bleat

Survival gifts, won hard,
Then handed down,
That we just take for granted as
What’s due for our renown
