When I Walked In

Winter's Door

When I walked in
I only thought
To hang my coat up
And undress

The week was long
The day was cold
To change my clothes
Relieve some stress

And then I walked
Into our room
And saw that you
Were not alone

I turned around
I walked back out
And drove, not
Answering my phone

For who I was
I was no more
The minute I
Walked through that door

When I walked in
I had a life;
I had a home

I had

A wife
