I see your daughter’s married now;
She looks a lot like you —
You had her back when we were young
So much that you went through

Not yet quite out of high school, and
Him really not around;
I’m glad that things worked out for you
And that some peace you found

I hope that she’s a lot like you
In more than just her look:
For you are very special —
Always have been,

    Reading this one, he asked again, “Is that a poem?” When I started typing this comment, “Are you making your own poem?”
