There Is No Fool Like An Old Fool…

Six bought tickets from a scalper
For a sold-out baseball game;
Deal was not too bad, we’re thinking,
Walking in, our seats to claim

The top ticket was a good one,
But the others were for show:
All the rest were for a game that
They had played a week ago

City kid hoodwinked us scholars,
Made us each look like a dunce:
There is no fool like an old fool
‘Cept, six college fools at once

  1. I thought no one could write rhyming poems well anymore, but you’ve succeeded. It was lyrical, funny and to the point. Loved it!
