A Glass of Wine

We shared a glass of wine, or two,
More beautiful, she soon became;
But even though the wine’s worn off,
I see that beauty still the same

For like this aging vintage red,
To her, time has been naught but kind;
For she is beautiful to me
In face and figure, heart and mind

Yes, I’ve come to know beauty, and
To know I know it is a plus:
For beautiful is what we know
When we know love and it knows us
