Names, Names, Names…

Some places they drink soda,
And others they drink pop;
Still others call them soft drinks
And they aren’t going to stop

Here in the south they call it “Coke”
No matter what it is:
I don’t care what you call it.
Just give me
A drink
With fizz

Beleaguered Servant

Owen Servant is an online poet working in a style that's been described as "compulsive". In real life, he is an actuary, because being a poet wasn't unpopular enough.

  1. Everyone in the Northeast for all my life called it tonic. My husband (from Long Island) marveled at hearing it, and asked if we bought it from a traveling salesman with a horse and buggy out at the edge of town. (And that leads to, What do Southerners call a buggy?)
