Boys Reading

Boys want to be the type
Of men they read about
Those of heroic stripe
Who win in spite of doubt

Who vanquish evil foes
When bad times are at hand
Who stay through growing woes
And work for what’s been planned

So that these dreams may be
We have to plant the seed;
These men, we’ll never see
If first, boys do not read

To old dreams, we hold fast
It’s who we are, at last

  1. Old dreams or new dreams? I say let them read about all the failures too, lest they fall prey to the idea that they be the first to make the same old mistakes. Allowances made for those who couldn’t have known, even better to know and not make the mistakes at all 🙂
