People: let’s discuss the world
It suffers daily, bitterly;
And human life is blighted through
With rank and abject misery

There are two things that we can do
Confronted with weltschmerz;
We can point out how others fail
Or help someone who hurts

Let’s face it: fortune, good or bad
Comes on the undeserving;
I do not need to make this worse
With attitude self-serving

So I can either do something
Or point fingers of blame;
The first might change the world. The second
Leaves the world the same
