Oh, I love this book, I do
Umpteen times I’ve read it through —
Always takes me far away
From this place and from this day
Through the magic words within
To a place that’s never been

Reading free, no time no stricture
Suddenly I find a picture
There a man and woman see
Who look happy as can be
Consternation starts to flair
As I see that couple there

It could not have been, because
No such couple ever was
Strange, but its the way I feel
What I’m reading’s much more real
