The passive voice was used
And “Some mistakes were made”
The people got confused
And few fears were allayed

There was no one who erred
At least, that they recall:
And so the subject changed
To nobody at all

  1. It was noted that passive voice has been deemed the most effective style for bloodless bureaucrats and efficiency-minded zombies to construct messages that leave no opening for blame. Any discernible hint of values or humanity is thus excluded from the discourse.
    Fault was found, offense was taken but it was determined that guilt was not a viable option….
