we drank this ocean, feeling every drop that rinsed our bodies clean of all the past debris; the wounds, the salt, the kisses briny, all within this strange segmented sea but loneliness bleeds slow, a tide receding gently, noticing each section and each wavelet, every undulation captured in the corner of my eyes that only see what they regret
