If I Could Hide

 If I could hide, and leave behind
 The shadows of my yesterdays,
 The sun would find a rested mind
 Exploring all the nooks, and ways

 Along the coastline of the sea;
 Away from all the urgency
 I'd stop to look where nothing was
 And smile a little, just because

Amelioration

She needs some time to get away
From all that plagues her spirit;
Each new horizon fades away
Whenever she comes near it

She must release her essence for
It’s own renewing season:
And find amelioration that
Goes past mere will
Or reason

In A Blaze of Autumn

Now, in a blaze of autumn,

Colors jolt him back to life;

He turns his back upon the way

That leads to black-and-white

And journeys through the forest

That leads on to colors new:

And looks no more for shadows

Of the nightmare he’s been through

The lie was told, the deed was done,

But just then, he awoke —

And in a blaze of autumn

All of that

Went up

In smoke
