To love small truth, and shun bright lies,
To hug, when all you’ve been is shoved,
To take the blame, when it applies,
To love, when you have lost the loved —

To walk when riding is denied,
To kindly greet all those who meet you —
Do these, and though life does its worst,
No one can say that you let life

Defeat you
