She wakes to wonder,
Trembling,
The sunlight slanting
On the lake
She breathes in slowly,
Closing eyes,
Decisions made and
Yet to make
The boy behind her
Sleeping still,
The house is his,
The lake, the hills —
And what does all this mean
She thinks,
A world of love,
Or merely thrills?
