Storms, At Heart

Leaving port
Means there will be times
You’ll get lost

Tossed and buffeted,
Rudderless,
Panicked and fearful

But vessels
Such as ours weren’t meant
To stay docked

For storms, at heart, are
Personal
When you are in them

And journeys
Of exploration
Meant for us

Though invisible
We still strive —
And we still survive
