When All That’s Left Lies Broken

When all that’s left lies broken, we
Are stripped of all our certainty;
We gaze at others as they live,
And pull back what we have to give

And think, perhaps – we’d rather die
Than live again some kind of lie:
But truth recedes – we watched it go —
When all that’s left lies broken,
