Hindsight Prophets

Newspapers dropped off at houses?
Like milk bottles used to be —
Landlines will soon be like pagers,
That future’s not hard to see —

Tell me what the next big thing is?
That’s not really hard to do:
But now show me 2050
Go ahead. I dare you to.

Now’s not like I thought it would be
When I wore a child’s face:
For one thing, we all still live here
And not off in outer space.

Hindsight prophets act so knowing
Once all of the cards are shown —
It’s not hard to make predictions
After the events

Are known
