the wish: to merely, simply be.
this is, we know, a fantasy;
we stay in motion, constantly,
while wishing could merely be.
yet wishing is what wishing is,
and essay rather than a quiz:
and though we're not prepared today,
we have to write one, anyway.
these hearts, to merely, simply be
would find themselves, incessantly,
at odds with everyone and none.
for this is us; we're so much fun.
