Poetry from a Parking Lot

When promises in silence break,
And afterwards is veil and stress,
A slanted reasoning we make
That all is shade and nothingness –

But, see: the dawn is billowing
Her parachute across the sky,
And light falls soft on everything,
Like fading stars that dance, but

Never die
