Boxer’s Death

The selfless give, and give, and give,
Til one day, they give out;
But they’ve stayed faithful to the cause,
And so have little doubt

That though they’re tired, they can claim
A pension, room, and meal —
Until they find they’re sold for scrap,
And none of it
Was real
