Poem Written Age 25 (Unedited)

I was in a really dark place back then.

I close my eyes, but I don’t sleep
I open them, but I don’t see
You are there with him
And always will be

I cook my food, but I don’t taste
I pour a drink, but yet feel dry
You are there with him
I’ve got no alibi

I wasn’t good enough for you
I wasn’t man enough for you
I wasn’t anything at all
You needed to
Be happy

I want to close my eyes and sleep
And never open them again
For you are there with him
And I
Am nothing
