Demerits – II

The latest and the greatest are
The tastings and the wastings of
The many and the plenty
Without cease —

Don’t tell me and don’t sell me on
The things affluence brings because
So much is nothing such
As brings us peace.

Discarded, unregarded are
The lines and lines of signs that were
The thimbles we make symbols,
Then display —

Like magazines and tv screens,
The fashion of the brash made trash,
Our vultural, and cultural,
Cachet
