Ravenea Rivularis,
The majestic stained-glass palm,
Stands crystalline and silent there
Between Midway and Guam.
And if you ever see it, please,
Then, do not say my name:
For I said yours to it once,
Things have never been the same —
With magic things, it’s best to look,
And then, to let them be —
Ravenea Rivularis, now,
Demarks both you
And me
Lode stones? There is magic in a shared place that perhaps, is best left undisturbed? Tho why you choose between Midway and Guam is hard to fathom.
The actual species is native to Madagascar, and is endangered. I moved it to the Pacific, somewhere indefinite and remote, trying (fictionally) to protect it.
