The Great Disdainer

Nothing’s more ridiculous
Than other people’s pain:
Yes, nothing is so ludicrous.
But yet, they will explain:

“She left me and the kids,” or else,
“He ran off with the maid!”
But I stand here, off to the side
Quite totally unswayed —

Your troubles do not interest me,
I won’t look through your lens,
And I would tell more people, but
I don’t have any
Friends
